Baccarat - rules and bets

The history of widely known card game Baccarat begins from Italy. Baccarat is a table game, which is played with 8 decks of 52 cards. There are three types of this game:

• punto banco
• baccarat banque
• baccarat chemin de fer.

Baccarat is mostly game of chance and therefore there is no baccarat strategy involved. The goal of this game is to gather the maximum amount of points according to the stake.

Process of the game

At the beginning of the game player make his bet on one of the sector on the table "Banker", "Player" and "Tie". It is allowed to make combined stakes with the exception of Player-Banker. After bets are made, dealer draws two cards to each player.

Ace has value of 1, pictured cards and 10 have zero value, and all other cards are valued according to their nominal. In case if either croupier or gamer has common number of point that equals to 8 or 9, this combination is called "natural" and is the highest one. After natural combination occurred dealer sums up results.

Bets in Baccarat

• "Player". The bet is made on gamers win. If it is so, dealer picks up all bets made on bank and tie and pays off bets made on player in correlation from 1 to 1. Advantage of casino according to this bet is 1.29%
• "Banker". The same as previous one, dealer collects all bets made on other fields and pays them off in correlation from 1 to 1 also. But from this bet casino takes commission from 4 to 5%.
• "Tie". This type of bet always loses in spite of case when Banker and Player have equal number of points. Therefore this bet has the highest payoffs in correlation form 8 to 1. The advantage of casino in this case reaches 15.75%.
